A point a piece was little use to either team as they strived to stay up. But the Bs produced some excellent football, controlling the ball well and created a host of chances. Unfortunately, poor finishing cost them the points.

Hendon played the first half hour with nine players. They were well organised and defended with great determination. The Bs were in complete control and should have been out of sight by the time Hendon got to full strength. But they had only Luis’s well struck goal to show for their efforts.

The Bs had a rare luxury of two subs and a fit squad for this game. They rotated regularly to keep the players fresh. Russ started at the back but midway through the half he switched to striker. The Bs pinned Hendon back and CJ and Ali, the full backs, got forward a lot to help build chances. Luis, Ali, CJ and Jordan had first half shots. But there were plenty of times when the Bs got in shooting range and overplayed. As a result too many chances went begging.

Luis’s goal was very well taken latching onto an accurate through ball and he buried his shot into the far corner.

At the break Ali had to come off as he was feeling unwell. This meant Russ returned to the back line as Hendon, at full strength, were quick and powerful going forward. The Bs had even more chances this half. Shomari, Conor, Jordan, Kyle, Tom, Luis and Russ had shots but few troubled the keeper. Stephen was quick off his line to snub out danger but was called on late on to make an outstanding close range save.

Hendon’s equaliser came from a corner when their striker lost his marker and finished well from close range.

The Bs came agonisingly close to winning with a great move down the right, a cross from CJ that found Russ charging in. But his shot from close in was well smothered and the rebound was blasted over.

There was a lot of hard work from all the players. Luis took the man of the match award as, over the whole game, he looked to be the most likely and most determined to get on the score sheet.
