Match Report - 5th September 2009
Good comeback for the Bs who found themselves 1-3 down at half time. The Bs lost defender Joe Jordan in the opening minutes with a hamstring strain. This caused a rejig to the line up with Russ dropping back in to the heart of the defence and Luis going up front. The U17Bs started well with a well taken goal early in the half. But Francis got the Bs level with an overhead lob that caught out the keeper and dropped into the far corner. The Bs were stung by defensive indecision that cost them two goals late in the half. This slightly distorted the score but the U17Bs still deserved their half time lead. At the break the Bs brought on all their subs to give all the players a run out. They looked and played better this half and George finished a well worked move to make it 2-3 with a delicately placed shot. The game looked to be heading to the U17Bs when Nick Kyriacou latched onto a cross to stab home an equaliser in stoppage time. Russ deserved the man of the match award for a commanding display all over the pitch. |
