Headstone ended their sequence of three successive defeats but should have got more than a draw after an excellent performance in the first half. In the end it was the familiar story of lots of possession and pressure but the finishing wasn't good enough to take advantage. Headstone also need to turn more of their possession into chances to ensure they start picking up the points.

In the early part of the first half the match was quite even but Headstone got the breakthrough in 11 minutes with a great goal by Conor (his first of the season). It was set up by a good pass by Daniel to Brett who used his pace well to race down the left wing and deliver an excellent cross into the box. Conor arrived in the area and finished with a good shot past the keeper.

Straight after that Thomas came on for Jordan and Russell replaced Brett up front. For the rest of the half Headstone controlled the game with some of their best passing of the season. Russell and Thomas had chances and they forced several corners but Greenford held firm. At the back Daniel was having a superb game and the Greenford attackers couldn't get past him. Joe marshalled things behind him and Rory also had a good game in goal.

At the start of the second half Joe came off and George took his place in defence. Brett went into midfield as did Jordan in place of Conor. Greenford put Headstone under more pressure in this half and got a fortunate break in the 31st minute. Greenford worked the ball into the area and, in a desparate effort to get the ball away, George accidentally knocked the ball into the corner of the net. George was understandably upset but he had done an excellent job as captain encouraging and organising the team and he continued to do so afterwards.

Greenford were buoyed up by the goal and for a while Headstone found it hard to clear the ball from defence. But they held firm and as the half progressed Thomas and Russell created further chances but couldn't find the winner. Daniel was man of the match for a solid performance in defence.
