This was an entertaining, hard fought game. LNER edged it in the first half but Headstone were the stronger team in the second half and the draw was a fair result.

Headstone started with Rory in goal for the second week running and he played well. Daniel and Ciaran, in front of him, were strong in the tackle and LNER had to work very hard to get through. They also made good use of the ball. George, Jordan Coleman, Thomas and Conor shared the midfield, they all worked very hard and improved as the game went on. Brett started up front and he tested LNER with his pace in the first half.

LNER had the better of the play in the first half but never really tested Rory. They were quick to break and won a number of corners which Headstone scrambled away. They created more of the chances and kept possession in the Headstone half. Headstone found it hard to keep the ball and their best chances came with breakaways using Brett's pace. Brett had two good chances but just failed to score.

Neither side looked likely to score and then just before the break LNER's striker picked up the ball just inside the box turned inside and shot. Rory looked to have the ball covered but it was deflected and he had no chance to save it.

In the second half Jordan Wright came on in goal and Rory replaced Brett up front. Headstone's passing and movement in the second half was much better and they gained the upper hand. Thomas was very strong in the centre and Conor made some impressive runs. Headstone got back ino the match with a well deserved goal early in the half. George curled in a corner to the near post, the ball was knocked on to Rory 2 yards out and he drove the ball home.

Headstone had further chances through Thomas, George and Conor. Jordan looked likely to get the goal when he was picked out, unmarked in the box, by a superb cross from Conor. But his shot was smothered by the keeper. At the other end Jordan Wright had virtually nothing to do as LNER were pinned back.

Rory was man of the match for a solid performance in goal followed by a good performance up front capped by a well deserved goal. But all the players were impressive and can be proud of their efforts.
