Three second half goals won the match for Pitshanger giving a rather distorted scoreline after Headstone had created enough chances in the first half to win the match. Daniel's last minute consolation goal was the least the team deserved for all their effort.

Rory went in goal in the absence of Jordan Wright and gave a solid performance. He was rarely tested in the first half but when put under pressure later on he produced some good saves. He also distributed the ball well. Joe was captain today and he started in defence with Ciaran. Daniel came on midway though the half and all three worked hard to stifle Pitshanger's attacks. In the first half they were particularly effective keeping the ball away from their area and pushing the ball up to Russell up front and to the midfield trio.

George, Thomas, Conor and Jordan Coleman shared the midfield and worked the ball very well creating a number of good chances. Russell, Thomas and Conor had 6 shots on goal before the interval but couldn't find a way past the Pitshanger keeper. Russell did a good job holding the ball up and finding Conor, Jordan and George on the wings.

Like last week against Wasps, Headstone were undone by conceding two sloppy goals in the space of two minutes. Both came from failing to clear the ball as it bounced through the centre and Pitshanger prodded the ball home from close range. Six minutes later Pitshanger sealed the game with a third goal from a long ball which everyone misjudged and which bounced tamely into the net.

Despite their disappointment Headstone kept battling and looked to push forward when possible. Russell, George and Thomas had further chances and right at the end Headstone finally broke through. George whipped in a corner which Pitshanger failed to clear, the ball bounced out to Daniel on the edge of the box who shot powerfully into the corner. It was his first goal for the B team and was thoroughly deserved for his hard work.

The result was disappointing as Headstone should have been ahead before the break. But they can be proud of their passing particularly in the first half, the chances they created and for never giving up despite their disappointment. Ciaran McDougall was man of the match for a strong performance in defence.
