A magnificent performance by the whole team won Headstone their second match in a row. The final score of 1-0 in no way reflected the way Headstone totally dominated the match. Russell, and later Brett, up front and Jordan, George and Thomas in midfield produced 23 shots on goal and Russell had 11 of them. But they were thwarted by the worst pitch of the season and a good performance by the Pinnstars goalkeeper. The pitch was almost unplayable. Before the game the whole pitch was extremely soft and very boggy in the centre and in both penalty areas.

What was most impressive was the way all the Headstone players combined with each other and passed the ball so well on such a dreadful pitch. The movement, passing and support was the best they have produced this season.

From the kick off Headstone attacked Pinnstars and created wave after wave of chances. Russell, Jordan, Thomas and George tore into the Pinnstars defence and had 15 shots in the first half. Meanwhile at the back Jordan Wright had his quietest game of the season as Pinnstars managed only one shot.

The only goal came in the 23rd minute from a throw in on the left hand side. George and Thomas combined and Thomas's pass found Russell in the area. He beat a defender before shooting past the goalkeeper. It was a well deserved goal for the team and particularly for Russell.

In the second half Headstone continued to drive forward. In defence Michael, Daniel and later Nathan were like a rock on the half way line and Pinnstars struggled to get past them. With all the possession Headstone enjoyed, Michael and Daniel had plenty of opportunities to get forward and help create chances. The substitutes Brett and Nathan came on for George and Michael in the second half and slotted in straight away. Pinnstars got stronger towards the end of the match but Headstone finished worthy winners.
