Headstone's first home defeat of the season in a match they played well in and should have won with the many chances they created.

Headstone started the match slowly and Pitshanger should have opened the scoring with an attack straight from the kick off but the shot went just wide. But their early pressure told in the 4th minute when they burst through the Headstone defence to take the lead with a shot past Jordan Wright. Moments later George Moriarty replaced Jordan Coleman who injured his knee. George then produced an outstanding performance working tirelessly in midfield to create chances for himself, Brett and Conor.

As the half progressed Headstone gained confidence and pressed the Pitshanger defence with a number of good chances. Then on 23 minutes Brett put Conor through on goal with an excellent pass and Conor beat the keeper to equalise. At the start of the second half Jordan came back on in place of Brett and Conor went up front. Michael replaced Thomas who had played well in midfield. Michael went in defence and Kushal moved up into midfield where he made a series of strong surging runs forward and had two good shots on goal.

Playing downhill, Headstone created more chances but the Pitshanger keeper produced a string of excellent saves to keep the score level. Jordan produced a high shot from the edge of the area that the keeper tipped onto the bar and Conor, clean through on goal, shot powerfully into the corner and the keeper pushed it wide. Meanwhile Michael and Daniel worked hard at the back and made some crucial tackles and interceptions.

Right at the end Pitshanger caught Headstone with two late goals. The first, a looping shot from close range after Headstone failed to clear a corner, the second, a break through the defence that Jordan Wright had no chance of stopping. A disappointing result but a good positive performance by the whole team.
