We entered three teams, the C team were runners up in their group and reached the Plate, the B team were best runners up and reached the semi final, where they were beaten by the A team who went all the way and won a dramatic final on penalties. The Teams

They won the group comfortably 2-0 against Kodak with goals from James Brophy and Ryan Hayes, 3-0 against Pinner scored by Ryan Hayes and Michael Prendeville and 1-0 against Pitshanger scored by James Brophy. This meant they finished with 9 points out of 9. B Team The B team, managed by Tim Hawes, played against Pitshanger A, Mill Hill Rangers B and Wealdstone Juniors. They beat Pitshanger 1-0 thanks to a back heeled goal by George Moriarty. They drew 0-0 with Wealdstone and then lost narrowly 0-1 to Mill Hill. This meant they finished as runners up with 4 points. C Team The C team played against Pinner United A, Harlington A and Pitshanger. They lost to the eventual Plate winners Pinner United 0-2, drew with Pitshanger but beat Harlington 1-0 with a fine goal by Brett Swinton-Bland. This meant they finished as runners up with 4 points. The C team went into the Plate competition where they played Pinner United B but lost 0-2. The B team were the best runners up in the tournament and went into the semi finals where they were drawn against the A team. The B team started superbly and after just 2 minutes took the lead with a goal by Conor McBreen. But the A team came right back into it with a quick equaliser and in the second half clinched the match 3-1 with two further goals. Michael Prendeville and Ryan Hayes got the 3 goals that took them to final. The final was against Mill Hill Rangers A. James Lane was in goal, Dhyanesh Patel and Riyad Lucy were in defence, James Brophy, Carl Power, Sammy Hawes and Ryan Hayes were in midfield and Michael Prendeville was up front. It was a close and tense match and after full time the teams were locked at 0-0. The match went into extra time and still they couldn't get a breakthrough and it finished level. So it went into a penalty shoot out. Ryan Hayes, James Brophy, James Lane and Riyad Lucy scored for the A's to win the final 4-3. The players definitely saved their best till last and provided a superb end to the season. Here's to more success for all three teams next season. Thanks to all the players and parents for their support and efforts over the summer. |
