Hayes End Wanderers YFC Tournament - 29 June 2003

The B and C teams entered this tournament. Both were in tough groups but, despite struggling to find the net, they held their own.

B Team
The B team played in Group C of the Red Competition against Acton Ealing Whistlers A, Bedfont Eagles A, Burnham Junior Panthers B, White City Youth A and Slough Irish Youth. This was a strong group and Slough were a very good team winning all of their matches. The B team had a solid start with three 0-0 draws against Bedfont, Acton and Burnham. But they lost their last two games 0-2 to White City and 0-1 to Slough. This meant they finished 3 points.

C Team
The C team played in Group C of the Blue Competition against Acton Ealing Whistlers B, Asford Athletic Colts B, Charville Athletic A, Hayes Youth B and Yiewsley Predators B. They started with goalless draws against Ashford and Acton. They took the lead against Charville with a goal by Kieron Ruparelia and had chances to win the match. But Charville scored 2 goals in a minute to win the game. They lost their last 2 matches against Hayes 0-2 and Yiewsley 0-1. This meant they finished with 2 points.

The group winners, runners up and best 3rd place teams went through to the knockout stages but the B and C teams went out.

The players worked hard on a very hot day, thanks to all of them and to their parents for their support.
