Awards Evening - 8th July 2007

The Under 13s Awards Evening took place on Sunday 8th July at Broadfields from 4 till 8 pm. Thanks to all of you who came along to support the boys and see them collect their awards. We are very grateful to the organisers of the event, Sue Parr, Sue Coleman and Althea Fuller and to everyone who helped out and laid on a superb spread - the food was excellent.

We had more awards to give out than ever before. There were squad trophies for all the boys and the special awards chosen by the players and the managers. The A team collected some great trophies for finishing as runners up in Division 1 and for winning the St Josephs tournament and the New Windsor Plate. Seven boys collected 7 year awards and we also awarded the Jack Petchey prize. The B team players had also voted to give out some special fun awards. The winners were:

The A team awards:
Manager's Player of the Year - Luke Jerome
Most Improved Player of the Year - Riyad Lucy
Player's Player of the Year - Josh Lapompe
Top Scorer - Liam Coles

The B team awards:
Manager's Player of the Year - Russell Butlin
Most Improved Player of the Year - Kyle Giles-Brown
Player's Player of the Year - Russell Butlin
Top Scorer - Conor McBreen

The B team received a limited edition Season Review Booklet with their squad trophies.

This year, seven of the squad were due their 7 year awards. Kevin Duffy gave the following boys a medal and a certificate:

Jordan Wright

We were very proud that the first winner of the club's Jack Petchey Award scheme was Jordan Wright. Jordan won £200 for the squad which he used to buy each player a new kit bag for next season. Jordan was awarded a superb certificate at the event.

The B team also had some special awards that the players voted on. The following players won:
Worst timekeeper of the Year - Kyle Giles-Brown who won an alarm clock.
Most forgetful player of the Year - Fed Jaramillo who won an unsigned copy of the Mr Forgetful book.
Laziest trainer of the Year - Brett Swinton-Bland who had voted for himself and won a £5 note from the Bank of Homer Simpson.
