Headstone Manor YFC Vacancies
We are looking for people to come forward to fill the following roles:
- Chairperson
- Jack Petchey Coordinator
- Club Secretary
Alyson Angelides, Club Secretary has prepared an outline of what the roles
entail which you can see below. If you are interested, then please contact
Alyson by email or on 07816 143222.
Chairperson
This is someone who the club secretary can talk issues through with. They
tend to be the person who parents go to when they have a problem in the
club, although this could be because Kevin Duffy used to be chair before
Chris Christides. They need to be around the park, especially on Sundays so
that they can see what is happening. They need to be easy to talk to and
able to chair the managers meeting.
Jack Petchey coordinator
This person collates the nominations from the children and ensures that the
voters vote. There is some paperwork to do with the Jack Petchey foundation
- this is done online. Very straight forward but needs quite a lot of
nagging.
Secretary This is me (Alyson) at the moment. I have to sort out all the paperwork
from the League and County on a weekly basis. This can be five minutes or
lots of hours depending on what has happened that week. There are annual
forms for the League and County. The trophies for the season need to be
bought and the presentation event organised. The clubhouse needs to be
opened and locked at weekends. Make sure we have someone running the
tuckshop. Make sure the clubhouse is open for Christmas parties and fund
raising events. The lock up needs to be opened for the goal nets, equipment
etc. I have to decide if the pitches are playable. I have to open and lock
the changing rooms. Organise management and managers meetings and write up
the minutes. I have to liaise with the Council over the condition and
booking of the pitches and the park facilities. Liaise with the cricket
club, so that we have a clubhouse. Make sure that we have shorts, socks etc
to sell at the clubhouse. Clear up the rubbish left outside the clubhouse
when people leave it outside for the foxes to get at. Make sure the opposing
teams can find the right pitch when they arrive on Sundays. And generally
sort out everyones' queries. I also organise the tournament - but that's not
part of the secretary's role and nor should a lot of the above duties.
